How to Fish

While a surface swing is the traditional presentation, you can also use the fly as a dropper off a dry fly or use trout indicator, tight line, or rising nymph tactics.

Tying Instructions

1. Debarb hook, slide on bead, place in vice, start thread.

2. Tie in tail.

3. Tie in copper ribbing.

4. Dub abdomen.

5. Counter-wrap abdoment with ribbing.

6. Tie in underwing.

7. Tie in hackle. Make 1-1/2 wraps. Tie off.

8. Dub thorax.

9. Whipfinish, trim, and cement head.

HOOK: Dai Riki 135, size 10-14

TAIL: Dark partridge

ADBOMEN: Olive or amber sparkle dubbing

RIBBING: Fine copper wire

UNDERWING: Two strands of Krystalflash

HACKLE: Speckled hen soft hackle

THORAX: Black sparkle dubbing
