Suggests leeches (in large sizes), midges (in small sizes), damselfly nymphs, and dragonfly nymphs. The fly is especially popular in the Rockies.

How to Fish

Use an intermeditate line and a count-down-and-retrieve or slow retrieve presentations. Slow strips or steady hand-twist retrieves work best.

HOOK: TMC 5262, sizes 8-16

THREAD: Dark Olive

TAIL: Brown hackle wound on the shank as for a dry fly.

BODY: Dark olive chenille

WING: 5-7 mallard flank fibers
