  • Job Opening at the Deschutes River Fly Shop and Camp - "Caretaker, Camp Host, Fly Shop Manager"

I thought there might be some interest in this position on this forum, and with the permission of "Uncle Fuzzy" I wanted to post the following job opening for this coming season!

"We are interviewing for a camp host/shop manager/grounds keeper position at the Deschutes River Fly Shop and Camp for the 2017 season! Job includes a free RV/camper spot for the season, shop discounts, a small stipend and other earning potential. This is a perfect position for a simi retired or retired person or couple. Or that trout bum that wants to live in his/her van down by the river for the summer! PM or email me at info@flyfishdeschutes.com if you are interested or know someone that maybe!"

    Thanks for looking...
    -Vail B.

25--29 year old single Teacher Chin would have been all over this as a summer job. 44 year old Chin is now a Dad and self-employed and summer is the busy season. The retired couple would be ideal I'd think. The young person may be more apt to get themselves in trouble at The Rainbow.

SCI............If you're talking about the Rainbow market you're cracking me up. This could be a good job for me but I can't afford for my wife to be within a mile of a casino.

This would be a good place to work and a great guy to work for.
You don't need no gypsy to tell you why,
You can't let one precious day slip by.

I don't know, DB, I've heard some rough stuff about the rainbow room.

I realize now it's the Rainbow market being referred to above........definately a place where trouble could find you easily......the tavern in Maupin is a lil more laid back I think.

*Update* This position has been filled! We look forward to having more of a presence this season down at the camp with the fly shop being open starting this Saturday from 7:30-5:00, 7 days a week. And a onsite manager to welcome campers all season long. On a side note we are having an opening day party at the camp Saturday April 22nd, starting around 3:00 PM going into the evening.
