Recipe

HOOK SHANK: Waddington or similar hook shank. Or use 1X heavy, standard shank, turned-up eye; e.g. TMC 7999 or equivalent, and cut off hook at the bend

THREAD: Black

STINGER HOOK: Tie on with dacron thread

REAR COLLAR: Blue Ice Dub

RIB: Oval silver tinsel

HACKLE: Guinea fowl. Palmer after body is dubbed

BODY: Black Ice Dub

UNDER WING: Black marabou, wrapped around shank. Add a few strands of Krystal Flash or Flashabou

OVER WING: A few strands of amherst pheasant

HEAD: Red thread; whip finish and cement

 

Uses

This pattern is useful anytime you are using a sink tip line--summer or winter.

 

Variations

Another popular color combination is black body with a green rear collar.
